A pregnant woman:
- May not be fired because she is pregnant.
- May not do perform kinds of dangerous work.
- May not work overtime.
- Is entitled to maternity leave.
All women who have worked in the period before and after the birth are entitled to stay at home for a period of time (this is called maternity leave). If you work off the books, you will not be able to claim benefits for this period. It is important you get enough rest after childbirth. Try to reach an agreement with your employer about this. You can be accompanied by a doctor during your pregnancy and before the birth, thanks to the Urgent Medical Help procedure.
