Not all Belgian residence permits grant access to the Belgian labour market. Therefore, just because you have a Belgian residence permit does not mean you can necessarily work there.

Your right to access the labour market is clearly stated on your residence permit, as issued by the Belgian authorities:
- NO – you are not entitled to work in Belgium
- LIMITED – you can work in Belgium, but under certain conditions. For example, you can only work for a specific employer in a specific position – this is a ‘single permit’. Alternatively, you may have restrictions on your working hours, as is the case with student residence permits, for example.
- UNLIMITED – you can work in Belgium for any employer and in any position
