I already have a residence document for Belgium

Check whether your residence document mentions one of the following possibilities: Access to the employment market:
- Unlimited:you can start work immediately for any employer in any profession.
- Limited: you may work on certain conditions. What these conditions are depends on your residence card. If, for example, you have a student residence card, you may only work a limited number of hours. Others may perform only one profession.
- No: you may not work in Belgium. If you want to work in Belgium your residence status will have to change. For example, by applying for a combined permit. This is, however, not possible in every situation. You will find a more detailed explanation here.
If you work in Belgium, your employer must always respect Belgian employment rights, such as minimum wage, maximum number of working hours, etc. You will find more information about your employment rights here.
